To me the poem is say that although you have given birth to the your children, and technically they are yours. So you can teach them what you want but in the end they are going to do what they want with the things you tach them!

For me, this poem means that every individual is different, no matter who gives birth. I agree with Breanne, you can teach them what you've been taught but they still end up following what they personally believe and want to accomplish.

I like this poem because it teaches parents that eventhough they gave birth to us and raised us as theirs....we're all different because we're not going to follow the same steps as they did.....we're going to have our own experiences throughout life...! ''D

i really did enjoy this poem b/c its telling the parents that even though they gave birth and raised us doesnt mean that we truly belong to them...but it gave me a problem b/c i couldnt really figure out who we would belong to than b/c i dnt believe in like god...sometimes i might but its rarely.

wow, this poem is deffinately the type that every one can compare to. not only is this poem written for only children or only parents for that matter, its to whereas children can recommend it to controling parents and parents can read it before or after they have kids, it'll be less painfull for them to know whats instore for them not to do so they can see what children think.

I really like this poem beacuse it speaks the truth about kids. Parents think that kids own there kids. When i read this poem it said that the children are life longest life time. I really think that we are from life beacuse we are the future.

To me this poem was a metaphore. Meaning even if you (the parent) gave birth to the child, you cant show them the way. You can only guide them. Being you cant make their choices for them, you can only advise them.

I liked this poem because its letting us know that our parents do not own us and& can not choose the life they want us to have, we have to do that on our own whether its negative or positive .

i like this poem because even though our parents gave birth to us. they dont really own us because go created us, and this poem speaks the truth. parents can control us but as we get older we do what we want to do. and parents cant choose our lives because its not there future its our so eaither its good or bad thats the road the person wants to go.
